My parents used to own a Chinese restaurant. As the youngest daughter, I was forced to fulfill a myriad of roles and wear countless hats. Some of my responsibilities included: onboarding the entire restaurant onto all food delivery platforms, building a website, taking orders in Chinese, packing orders, translating for my parents, warding off frequent phishing calls, deciphering legal contracts, handling the cash register, troubleshooting the printer, and bussing tables. Between all of that, I managed to snag a few photos of the kitchen! It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my early adulthood to contribute to the operation of a Chinese banquet restaurant.
